Max García Conover is a songwriter from New York. He releases music independently and through the Barcelona-based label Son Canciones. His songs are both personal and political, and he's performed them throughout the US and Europe, sharing the stage with Cat Power, Justin Townes Earle, The Weather Station and others. In between songs he tells stories and lately he's been developing those stories into pieces that stand on their own. Currently based in a small town in Maine, Conover divides his time between writing, touring, and teaching.
Oanh Ngo Usadi was born in Saigon, Vietnam. Her first book, Of Monkey Bridges and Banh Mi Sandwiches, tells the story of her family's harrowing escape from Vietnam and their journey to become Americans in a small Texas town. Her latest book, Hawker Dreams: A Vietnamese American in Singapore published in March 2024, brings the reader on a journey of home and belonging through the prism of language, cuisine, and class.
Oanh's writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Forbes, The New York Times, The Moth anthology A Point of Beauty, and elsewhere. She has been featured in several podcasts including The Moth Podcast, Voice of America, and Bayoulands.
