The Moth Pop Up Porch in New Orleans

Presented by General Motors

October 12 - 16, 2022

The Moth Pop Up Porch Tour will visit New Orleans at the French Market (at the intersection of French Market Place and Governor Nicholls Street).

Free and open to the public, The Moth Pop Up Porch, presented in collaboration with General Motors, is a brave space for sharing stories and connecting with those around you.

At The Moth Pop Up Porch you can:

  • Meet Moth story directors, instructors and producers

  • Learn how to craft and pitch your own story

  • Listen to stories from The Moth archive

  • Attend a community event featuring local musicians, artists and creators

  • Take part in workshops with local community organizations

We’ll also host a Moth StorySLAM at Cafe Istanbul. StorySLAMs are ticketed, open-mic storytelling competitions where anyone with a five-minute story based on the event’s theme can take the stage to share their story and compete for the title of StorySLAM champ! No story, no problem! Join us at the StorySLAM to meet locals from your community and listen to stories.
