Captain Frederick Hauck spent 29 years in the US Navy as a combat pilot, test pilot, and NASA Astronaut. His awards include two Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medals, the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame in 2001.
