Join Materials for the Arts (MFTA) and The Moth Community Team in Long Island City for a StorySLAM in a 35,000 square-foot warehouse! Come to enjoy the show or for the chance to put your name in the hat to tell a 5-minute story on our theme...BETTER THAN NEW. Our theme celebrates MFTA's commitment to creativity and sustainabiliy in giving materials a second life through art and education.
The Moth Community StorySLAM is a project of the Moth Community Engagagement Program, meant to create a welcoming space for hearing and sharing stories. Tickets are donation-based, and stories are not judged or scored. Through our justice initiative, we collaborate with organizations committed to promoting fairness and equity in communities across the country.
