The Moth StorySLAM is an open-mic storytelling competition in which anyone can share a true, personal, 5-minute story on the night's theme. Sign up for a chance to tell a story or sit back and enjoy the show!
This One-Off StorySLAM is presented by the Holle Center of Communication Arts at The University of Alabama.
And tonight’s theme is…
ONLY IN THE SOUTH:
Prepare a five-minute story that could only happen in the South.
A lesson in minding your P’s and Q’s. A church potluck on a sunny Sunday or a rowdy tailgate cheering on the Crimson Tide. Tell us of afternoons sipping sweet tea and eating boiled peanuts. Dancing to bluegrass, relaxing on a Gulf Coast beach, or the lessons learned at grandma’s kitchen table. From small towns to big cities, back roads to bayous...tell us what being Southern is all about.
