Today’s conviction is an important moment in the fight for equity and justice. But it is not enough. We only need to look as far as the daily headlines to find examples of police brutality, blatant racial injustice, and denial of the value of Black lives. There is still much work to be done in the ongoing fight against systemic racism.
We at The Moth will continue our efforts, using our voices, platforms, and stories to combat racism, violence, and oppression and to help counter these inequities for a better future.
We once again send our sympathy and support to the family of George Floyd. To our Black listeners, show attendees, members, supporters, staff, instructors, and partners, we are thinking of you. All of us at The Moth are dedicated to amplifying the cries for justice and supporting the work of all those engaged in the ongoing fight against systemic racism. We will continue to hold ourselves accountable by elevating stories that celebrate the joy of the Black community and experience, while also sharing stories from those affected by inequality. We will not allow the lives of those we’ve lost to be forgotten.
