ABOUT THE MOTH Education Program:
The Moth Education Program creates spaces where young storytellers listen, celebrate each other’s voices, and tell their own stories. Through crafting and sharing true, personal narratives, participants gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their peers, their community and the world around them.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a candidate who would be excited to learn about the inner workings of running arts education programs at The Moth, including the process of curating and wrapping live and virtual events.
HOURLY RATE: $16.50
- 8 hours per week for 4 months.
- 1-3 days per week between Monday - Thursday, 10am-6pm EST.
- This position requires some evening and weekend hours, as needed, to support our event schedule.
- A set schedule with the above parameters will be determined by the candidate’s availability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the virtual and in person production of our program events: EDU Slams, Showcases, Workshops, Teacher PD Offerings and Assemblies.
- Assist in the organization and systemization of data tracking and entry
- Assist in programming workshops for high school and college students.
- Support implementation of professional development for teachers and instructors (The Moth Teacher Institute, curriculum updates and packaging, researching potential conferences and potential partners, instructor meet-ups, observing workshops).
- Admin support (data entry, replying to inquiries, managing The Moth’s Info acct. and other tasks)
- Assist in the wrap process for all events including video editing and photo curation for promo materials.
- Development of Marketing and Recruitment Materials with an eye on youth recruitment strategies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Experience with editing video.
- Experience with data entry and organization.
- An understanding of organizational software (google suites, airtable).
- An eye for social media trends.
