Hector Black was an organic farmer who lived outside of Nashville, Tennessee. He served in the army during World War II and graduated from Harvard in 1949.  He died in 2020, at home surrounded by friends and family. He was laid to rest next to his daughter Patricia and wife, Susie, in the family cemetery underneath dawn redwoods he planted many years ago.
