Laura Albert is the author of Sarah, Harold's End, and the story collection The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, all published under the name JT LeRoy. Her writing has been published in The New York Times, The London Times, Spin, Interview, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Black Book, and many other publications worldwide. Albert wrote the original screenplay for Gus Van Sant's Elephant and has written for the HBO series Deadwood. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and now lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
