Exciting news raconteurs – we’re ringing in 2013 with a SLAM expansion! We’ve got new StorySLAMs and GrandSLAMs all around the country.
Get your stories ready, because starting this January two new cities are getting their very own monthly Moth StorySLAM series. That’s right, Minneapolis and San Francisco. We heard you, and we’re coming.
- The Minneapolis/St. Paul Moth StorySLAM will launch on Wednesday, January 30th at Amsterdam Bar and Hall and will continue on last Wednesday of every month with support from Minnesota Public Radio.
- The San Francisco Moth StorySLAM will launch on Monday, March 11th at Rickshaw Stop and will continue on the second Monday of every month with support from KQED.
The themes for both of these new StorySLAMs will be SECRETS, so make sure to unearth your deepest and darkest tales of hidden mysteries and things either sworn to the grave… or at least sworn to your journal.
Plus, two of our freshman SLAM cities are having their very first GrandSLAMs! On January 17th, Pittsburgh will be having their GrandSLAM premiere at the New Hazlett Theater, a venue that has played host to several Moth Mainstages in the past – and tickets are on sale now! And on February 1st, Louisville SLAMmers will be competing in their first-ever GrandSLAM at the Bomhard Theater.
